In 2001 I attended the first Green Building conference in the United States. It was here that I witnessed first hand the powerful yet concise message that an efficient, high quality design, is by its nature sustainable. It is truly exciting to see how far "green" has come in such a short amount of time. We are lucky to be in California the epicenter of the green building movement in the United States. I have taken courses on the commercial building side with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) as well in residential building with Build it Green – where I am a certified green building professional.
