Daily email updates are a great way to start the home buying process.

Daily email updates are pulled from Multiple Listing Service (MLS) by allowing the user to construct their own customized filters and receive daily updates on all the real estate "action" - it works best when you work directly with your agent so you both can be tracking the same data. Below are a simple set of instructions. Should any questions arise consult Scott Ward.

1. Select a county. Alameda - all cities west of the Caldecott Tunnel. Contra Costa - El Cerrito and north/Orinda to the east
2. It is better (more refined) to search by zip codes then cities. Contact Scott Ward for specific zip codes and the neighborhoods they correspond to.
3. Property Type - better to search for a house if a single family residence is your goal rather then house and condo as prices tend to be different between the two as does size (square foot).
4. Min/Max price - should be self explanatory but one should try and keep the range to within $100k - as this will limit the data and number of emails.
5. Bed/Bath count - keep this as broad as possible.
6. Min SQF/Max SQF - For example If you are looking for a "starter" single family house it may be wise to begin with 900 SQF - as the total SQF is driven a lot of the time off tax data that may be old and not taking into consideration renovations or past expansions.
7. We need your name and working email.
8. Select your Lawton Agent - a copy of your profile will be sent to the agent.
9. When all the above steps are complete click "SEARCH THE MLS"
10. You will get a verification email sent to the above address - click on this to accept. Once this is done/verified your daily email updates begin.

*If you know the exact address or street of a house which is for sale - use the "quick search tool" at the bottom under "search by address" - simply enter the required information and you will be directed (via the MLS) to that house(s) - Neato.
